How does listing your yacht on YCF work

Featuring your yacht for charter on Yacht Charter Fleet is free. All it takes is for you to provide us with the full technical specifications and details of your yacht, together with the largest possible range of good quality photos to illustrate the presentation of your yacht on the site, as we reserve the right not to include a listing whose marketing quality is not deemed good enough to be included on the site.

For the actual handling of charters, we do advise yacht owners to appoint a Central Agent (we cannot list yachts only available on private websites) who will both market the yacht and manage its bookings as well as all the contractual aspects between the yacht owning company / yacht owner and the charterer. This will include the distribution of commission from the charter fees paid by the charterer. Owners should be aware that the rule of thumb in the superyacht industry is to split the charter revenue 80/20, with 80% being revenue generated to the yacht owning company, and 20% split between the charter broker who brings a client, and the Central Agent that markets and manages the yacht for charter - the standard split being 15% for the charter broker, and 5% for the agent.

As a result, a yacht chartering for USD100,000 a week, inclusive of all fees and commissions, will generate USD80,000 in revenue for you (before any tax applies). Please note also that there is usually no commission due on APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance), which is the money sent by the charterer in anticipation of all extra costs to take place during the charter and are charged at cost in the client’s expenses account.
